Your privacy is important to me. Below you will find information about the personal data that may be processed when you use the Lawful Business Lawyers website or contact me.

1. Data Controller

2. Contacting Me

If you contact me using the contact form available on the website or by email, I process the data you provide, in particular your name or company name, email address and the information contained in your message.

I process this data for the following purposes:

  • responding to your enquiry and communicating with you – based on my legitimate interest in handling correspondence (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR);
  • taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, where your enquiry concerns the possibility of using the firm’s legal services (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR);
  • establishing, exercising or defending legal claims, where necessary – based on my legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Providing your data is voluntary, but without the information necessary to contact you, I may not be able to respond to your message.

3. Contact Form

I use Jetpack Forms, a tool provided by Automattic, on this website.

Data submitted through the contact form is stored in the WordPress database hosted on the website’s server and sent to the email address used for handling correspondence. In connection with the operation of Jetpack, certain data is also synchronised with Automattic’s infrastructure.

I currently do not use Akismet to analyse messages submitted through the contact form.

4. Website Statistics

I use Jetpack Stats to obtain basic information about how the website is used, such as the number of visits, pages viewed, traffic sources, link clicks and the country from which a connection is made.

In connection with Jetpack Stats, Automattic may process technical data relating to a visit, including the IP address, browser information, the URL visited, referring URL, event timestamp, browser language and country code and, in the case of users logged into WordPress.com, certain information associated with their account.

Data identifying individual visitors is not made available to me through Jetpack Stats. Automattic states that Jetpack Stats logs containing IP addresses and, where available, WordPress.com user data are retained for 28 days.

I use these statistics to analyse how the website is used and to improve it.

The legal basis for processing personal data for this purpose is my legitimate interest in analysing how the Website is used and improving it (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5. Technical Data and Website Security

When you use the website, technical data relating to your connection may be processed, in particular information recorded in server logs.

This data may be used to the extent necessary to ensure the proper and secure operation of the website, protect it against unauthorised access and diagnose technical problems.

The legal basis for this processing is my legitimate interest in ensuring the security and proper functioning of the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

6. Service Providers

In connection with operating the website and handling correspondence, I use services provided by third parties supplying technical solutions, in particular:

  • LH.pl – website hosting,
  • Automattic – provider of Jetpack and services related to WordPress.com,
  • Microsoft – provider of email and Microsoft 365 services.

These providers may process personal data to the extent necessary to provide their services.

Jetpack requires the website to be connected to the WordPress.com infrastructure and, depending on the Jetpack features in use, certain data is synchronised with Automattic.

7. Transfers Outside the EEA

Some of the service providers I use operate globally. As a result, certain personal data may be processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, this takes place using mechanisms provided for under the GDPR, in particular on the basis of an adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission or appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Microsoft also operates the EU Data Boundary, under which certain categories of customer data relating to its commercial services are stored and processed within the EU and EFTA, subject to limited exceptions necessary, among other things, for security, support and operation of the services.

8. How Long Do I Keep Your Data?

If your enquiry does not lead to us working together, I generally retain the data relating to your enquiry and correspondence for 30 days after the correspondence has ended, unless longer retention is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

If your enquiry results in us working together, your data may continue to be processed in connection with the provision of legal services and compliance with legal obligations applicable to the law firm, for the period resulting from the purpose of the processing and applicable law.

Technical data is retained for the period resulting from the purpose for which it is processed and the retention policies of the relevant service providers. Information on the retention of certain Jetpack Stats logs is provided in section 4.

9. Your Rights

Depending on the legal basis and circumstances of the processing, you may have the right to:

  • access your personal data and obtain a copy of it,
  • rectify your personal data,
  • have your personal data erased,
  • restrict the processing of your personal data,
  • data portability – in the circumstances specified in the GDPR.

Where your personal data is processed on the basis of my legitimate interests, you also have the right to object to the processing.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych) if you believe that your personal data is being processed unlawfully.

10. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The website may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for its proper and secure operation and are associated with the functionality of the services used on the website.

I use Jetpack Stats as described in section 4. This tool processes certain technical data relating to visits in order to generate website usage statistics. The technologies used by Jetpack depend on the active features and configuration of the website.

I currently do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or other behavioural advertising tools on this website.

If technologies requiring user consent are introduced in the future, consent will be obtained before such technologies are activated, in accordance with applicable law.
