My philosophy: Legal advice starts with seeing the bigger picture
Partnership
For more than 10 years, I have worked with businesses, always seeking to understand how they really operate. Whether working in-house or as external counsel, I have always valued a model in which a lawyer becomes part of the team.
Because effective legal advice requires seeing more than the legal issue itself — it requires understanding the business, its goals and its real needs.
Interdisciplinary approach
Business legal advice rarely fits neatly within a single area of law. My work has taken me across a wide range of projects and legal areas — from civil and commercial law to product regulation, advertising, competition and consumer law, as well as IT, data protection and corporate matters.
This experience has taught me to see the connections — because a single business decision often has implications across several legal and operational areas.
Multicultural perspective
The international dimension of my work has always particularly appealed to me. I have had the opportunity to work with partners from different parts of the world and to experience very different organisational cultures and approaches to doing business.
It has taught me that although we may differ in how we think, communicate and work, some things matter in business everywhere: trust, clear rules, accountability and an understanding of each other’s interests. At the same time, diversity is a source of insight we can draw on when looking for fresh perspectives and less obvious solutions.
Broad perspective
I have worked with companies of different sizes, with people at different levels of organisations and on very different projects. This has taught me to see the connections between legal and business decisions and their practical impact on the day-to-day operation of a company.
A good legal solution should work not only on paper. It should also take into account what it means for sales, marketing, finance, operations and the people who will actually use it.
Curiosity
I have always been interested in new ideas and in people who know how to turn them into reality. Working with visionary entrepreneurs has taught me to keep up with their way of thinking and to look for solutions where there are no ready-made templates.
The law sets boundaries, but within those boundaries there is often more than one way forward. Curiosity helps me look for that way rather than stop at “it can’t be done.”
